Pharmacist Objectives

1.       Be able to provide basic patient education on insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.

2.       Identify appropriate safety interventions when insulin pumps are used in the inpatient setting.

3.       Understand how to trouble shoot and set up continuous glucose monitors.

 Pharmacy Technician Objectives

1.       Recognize the various components required for an outpatient prescription in patients receiving continuous glucose monitors.

2.       Identify the frequency in which insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitor accessories are used and when a new prescription is necessary.

3.       Be able to provide patients with trouble shooting resources for insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitors.
